Hello, darlings, how are you? Looking fabulous as always. One of my various artistic endeavors is finally coming to bloom. May I present the first batch of the series called Chromatic Desires.
Flower and figure, blossom and body. Desire and delight embodied in different but complimentary forms—the same fundamental essence creating an endless variety of manifestations. Flowers bring immediate joy and power with their simple presence, a potent reminder of the temporary nature of all phenomena. Are our bodies any different? Temporary joys to be displayed and shared and felt and savored before they pass away in the endless cycles of life.
And just where do the inspirations and imagery come from? From the garden of earthly delights known as social media. Despite the arbitrary rules and standards, and hypocritical concerns for puritanical purity and demeaning patriarchal notions of "safety", social media is a riot of horniness. One can certainly tune it all out or dive in. Guess which option I choose? I dare say, if you’re reading this, darling, you’ve chosen similarly.
Think of me as a horny little magpie collecting little shiny things and hoarding them for later. Then I go back to my little hoard and see what inspires, or maybe fits a theme I’m contemplating. It's an erotic wellspring of the moment.
And the flowers? Well, sometimes a flower is just a flower. And sometimes, it’s not. You be the judge.
These gems are small. They’re a great complement to a growing collection or a wonderful start on your collecting journey. No need to break the bank or commit an enormous amount of your precious wall space. They could even be displayed with easels on a shelf or other surface needing some liveliness.
This batch here is very, very gay, but not all of them are explicit so hopefully that gives you some maneuvering room in your display deliberations. (Fun side note: I recently concocted my own little taxonomy of naughtiness: coy, revealing, horny, and explicit to help collectors decide.)
These gems are also unframed for maximum flexibility. The deep saturated colors, dominated by blues and pinks are best complimented, to my taste, by dark gold frames. But it’s not just what compliments the painting, it’s also about that painting in your space. If you’re all about the DIY, take a look at what the Rusty Roof has to offer. Please note, these are oil paintings, so no glass or plexi! They need to breathe. They are varnished and will last without protection provided they’re in a dry space away from direct sunlight.
If you’re in the NYC area and looking for a good framer, give City Frame a call.
Meanwhile, darlings, go out and smell the roses!
Until next time, flame on! 🔥
